Former Governor of Benue State, Rt Hon Gabriel Suswam has lamented over the defection of his close confidant, Solomon Wombo to the All Progressives Congress, APC describing it as a big blow.
The Ex-Governor said this during his visit to the Ter Katsina-Ala and father of Solomon Wombo, Chief Fezanga Wombo a few days ago where he asked the traditional ruler to prevail on his son not to decamp to APC.
Wombo who was the Special Adviser to Suswam on Local Government and Chieftancy Matters and currently a contestant for the Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo House of Representatives seat remained a close ally of the former Governor until his defection.
Whilst it is thought that Wombo’s defected is as a result of the recent handover of the structures of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP to Governor Ortom, it was gathered that he did so following the decision of the PDP to zone the Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo House of Representatives ticket to Logo local government area.
It was also gathered that this was orchestrated by Ex-Governor Suswam to favour Hon Kester Kyange, a member of the Benue state House of Assembly who is also inerested in the ticket, ruling out Wombo who is from Katsina-Ala local government area.
Suswam also hails from Logo local government and is contesting for the Benue North East Senatorial seat under the PDP.
