“Renovation cost more than new projects”, Governor Ortom’s aide

Special Assistant to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom on Media and ICT, Mr Tahav Agerzua has said renovation of buildings cost more than new projects.
He said this in response to concern over the inability of the governor to commission any projects since he assumed office over three years ago.
According to him, the huge loans taken by the government was judiciously used in renovating old projects in line with the governor’s campaign promises of quality service delivery in health, education, and other critical infrastructure.
“I think the issue goes beyond whether a government project is a renovation or it’s completely new as both require injection of public funds which have been appropriated accordingly.

“…experts sometimes submit that a renovation or rehabilitation might consume more as things are pulled down and replaced.” He said.
