Abounu Donates Patrol Vehicle To Police

In fulfilment of a promise he made to the Hudco Quarters and Environs Residents’ Association, High Level Makurdi, Benue State Deputy Governor, and member of the association, Engr Benson Abounu, today, donated a Toyota Hilux patrol vehicle to the Nigeria Police Force, “B” Division for use by the Hudco Quarters Police Post to help enhance the security of the area.
Chairman of the Residents’ Association, Hon. Bem Dzoho and few other residents were at the Benue Peoples House to witness the presentation of the van to the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP B.D Gwana represented by DCP, T. O Barke.
Making the presentation,  Engr Abounu, who had promised the residents a patrol van while commissioning the Police Post they built, last year, said he is making the presentation in his private capacity as a resident of the area and not as Benue State deputy governor, adding that he would always do anything that would enhance the peace and development of the area.
He stated that the idea of neighbourhood watch, which was a response to the rising rate of criminal activities in the area and the need to assist the Police tackle the tide has helped to, significantly bring down the level of criminality in the area. He commended the Police for their professional competence and for the partnership with the public in addressing criminality in the communities.
Speaking, the Commissioner of Police thanked the deputy governor for making the donation and promised to put the vehicle to optimum use to the good of the people. He called on other communities to emulate the residents of Hudco Quarters and partner with the Police to fight criminality in the society.
